This tree, a member of the family of the apocynaceae, the same to which for instance iboga belongs, comes from South America and is used there in folk medicine.

Use: Decoctions or tinctures made from the bark.

 

 

Active constituents: Alkaloids aspidospermine, quebrachine (yohimbine). The potency levels of this drug have large variations.

Effect: Aphrodisiac.

Side Effects: Overdoses can trigger nausea.
